Put these questions beside the quote
Repair businesses set their own charges. Some combine travel and assessment; others list them separately. No prices have been supplied for this directory, so check the terms with the business you’re considering.
| Charge | Ask the business |
|---|---|
| Travel | Is coming to this address included in the quote? |
| Assessment | What does it cover, and what do I owe if I decline the repair? |
| Work and parts | When will I receive an estimate, and what needs my approval? |
| A return visit | Is there another charge if a part has to be ordered? |
| Payment | Are taxes or other charges extra, and when is payment due? |
Keep the approval terms with the price
Ask how the estimate and approval fit into the visit. You should know when you’ll have a chance to say yes or no to further work and how that decision will be recorded.
Save the written terms. If a part or another appointment is needed, confirm those arrangements separately rather than assuming the estimate means everything is available and scheduled.
