Use the manual for storage preparation

Find the instructions for your exact model and power type. Gasoline, battery and corded machines need different preparation, so a checklist for one type shouldn’t be carried over to another.

Follow the manufacturer’s directions for fuel, batteries and service intervals as they apply to your machine. If something in the manual still isn’t clear, ask a technician who works on that machine.

Keep an unresolved problem in the service record

Record what happened and whether anyone assessed it. That makes it clear next season that a fault was still present when the snowblower went away.

Put the note with the model details and past work. If someone else looks at it later, they’ll have the history instead of having to reconstruct the final use of the season.

ABOUT THIS DRAFT

The technical and safety advice in this draft still needs to be checked against the manufacturer’s instructions by a qualified reviewer. Follow your machine’s manual.
